On February 8th, 2019, my brother Diresh (James) Thevanayagam, held a launch party for the release of the Sinhalese version of our book, The First 10 Runs in Singles, in our home country of Sri Lanka. Held at the Lanka Bible College, it also served as a chance to announce the dedication of the George and Sarojini Thevanayagam Memorial Scholarship.
While I was unable to attend the launch party, I feel very fortunate that we are able to share our experiences with each other via the internet, despite time and distance differences.
I’m so excited to share my parents legacy through this book on life and cricket, and to honor and pass on the lessons they taught me through their life experiences in my homeland’s native tongue. Sharing these life and leadership lessons with others across the globe has become a passionate mission of mine, and I’m thrilled to announce that in Sri Lanka there will be a third language, Tamil, available before the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2019.
